Thankfulness and signs of Christmas

I am reading Philipians at the moment, and it is really speaking to me. Philipians is written by Paul during his imprisonment in Rome. The whole letter focuses on Jesus rather than Pauls desperate situation. There is always room in our hearts for joy....always, regardless of our circumstances. If we fill our hearts with Jesus then nothing will be able to stop that joy.

In my bible at the beginning of the book, it says 'whether chained to a Roman guard or to some other situation you can't change, a good dose of Philipians is great medicine!' So true!

It also explains that in Phil 1:9-11 Pauls prayer gives us 4 things in which a life of a follower of Jesus looks like.

They are:
A heart full of love
A mind filled with God's knowledge and deep insight
A spirit so discerning that it leads to purity and blamelessness
A life overflowing with the fruit of righteousness

This is my prayer and what I want to work...or strive! towards.

There are a few more signs of Christmas around here now :)
